transcosmos Vietnam Updates Tree Planting Progress at Bản Cỏi (Phú Thọ) and Bình Châu - Phước Bửu (Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu) as Part of the 2024 CSR - Reforestation program

(March 2025) – Continuing its commitment to sustainable development, transcosmos Vietnam has implemented the Reforestation program at Bản Cỏi (Xuân Sơn National Park, Phú Thọ) and Bình Châu - Phước Bửu Nature Reserve (Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu).

After a period of monitoring, we are pleased to announce encouraging results:

🌿 At Bản Cỏi (Phú Thọ):

• 500 cinnamon trees have been planted across 500m² of forest, not only increasing forest coverage but also providing sustainable economic benefits to the local community.
• The survival rate has reached 95%, demonstrating the trees’ strong adaptation to the region’s soil and climate conditions. Additionally, over 20 non-surviving trees have been replaced with new ones by the local community.

Cinnamon is a valuable native species with high economic potential, contributing to local livelihoods while helping to restore the forest ecosystem.

🌿 At Bình Châu - Phước Bửu (Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu):

• 500 dipterocarpus alatus (Dầu rái) and hopea odorata (Gàu vàng) trees have been planted across 2 hectares of forest, helping to protect the soil, prevent erosion, and create a habitat for diverse wildlife.
• The survival rate has reached 80%, reflecting the trees’ good adaptation to the coastal climate conditions.

Reforestation efforts not only contribute to environmental protection and climate change mitigation but also provide sustainable socio-economic benefits for local communities.

According to the annual report from JOY Foundation, the organization that partnered with transcosmos Vietnam in the Bình Châu - Phước Bửu reforestation initiative:

"The 500 trees sponsored by transcosmos Vietnam in 2024 reflect the company’s strong commitment, responsibility, and trust in nature conservation, ecosystem restoration, and corporate social responsibility. By supporting reforestation, the company has played a crucial role in biodiversity conservation. The newly planted trees create habitats for thousands of plant and animal species, helping maintain ecological balance and protect endangered wildlife."
